Croft Retail and Leisure Park announces charity partner

Croft Retail and Leisure Park is delighted to announce that it has joined forces with Young Lives vs Cancer as its charity partner.

The partnership will see the retail park provide a platform for the charity to promote itself on site, as well as fundraising opportunities and events which will raise much needed funds to support young people who have been diagnosed with cancer, and their families.

Over the year, customers will be able to donate to the cause through a specific page for The Croft, as well as the fundraising events led by Operations Manager James Bradley.

James put forward the charity for the partnership after the support they gave to his family after his daughter, Ellie, was diagnosed with cancer and sadly passed away.

James said: “The support Young Lives vs Cancer gave Ellie and my family during such a difficult time made such a difference and we are forever grateful for the help we received.

“I have seen first-hand the difference they make to families across the UK, and we want to fundraise and raise awareness on their behalf so those that need it get the support they need.

“I am delighted that The Croft will be working with Young Lives vs Cancer over the next year and I cannot wait to get involved with some of the fundraising events.”

During September, which is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, The Croft will have fun days each Saturday on site, with the team taking part in a sponsored head shave, and a sponsored sky dive. People are able to donate here https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/TheCroftVsCancer-Skydive

Young Lives vs Cancer Fundraising Engagement Manager, Sophie Meadows, said: “We are so grateful to The Croft for choosing Young Lives vs Cancer as their charity partner. The money raised will make sure Young Lives vs Cancer can support more children like Ellie, and help their families find the strength to face everything cancer throws at them.

“We know that 12 more children and young people are diagnosed every day and it is vital that we can be there for them, individually, locally and nationally. Last year Young Lives vs Cancer social care teams supported 171 children and young people with cancer from Merseyside and we provided 139 financial grants totalling over £28,000 to these families. We rely entirely on voluntary donations for our work, so support like this is absolutely crucial.”
